STV-G — Telescopic Winch Driven Mast

Interested in learning more about this product?

Overview

The STV-G is a telescopic, winch-driven mast constructed from durable composite fiberglass. It is specifically optimized for easy mounting on the interior or exterior of vehicles to elevate equipment such as lighting, cameras, and sensors.

Technical Summary

Mast sections are fabricated from fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin and feature polyacetal slide-joints for smooth operation. Each section includes four external longitudinal guideways that permit manual 360-degree rotation of the mast. A hand-operated winch with a cogwheel transmission and a polyester belt system manages elevation. The winch mechanism incorporates an automatic safety brake and a system that automatically switches between raising and lowering functions based on the crank direction.

Operational Use Cases

This mast is designed for elevating equipment for various field applications. Primary use cases include mounting lighting arrays, photography equipment, and other sensor payloads on emergency response vehicles, such as those used by fire brigades, or on other specialized vehicles requiring temporary elevation of equipment.

Deployment Environments

The STV-G is intended for ground vehicle-based deployments. Its design is optimized for integration with trucks and similar platforms, allowing for equipment elevation from either the interior or the exterior of the host vehicle.

Performance Metrics

  • Maximum Extended Height (3-section model): 4 meters
  • Maximum Extended Height (4-section model): 5 meters
  • Construction Material: Composite fiberglass (polyester resin)
  • Actuation: Manual winch with polyester belt system

Setup & Portability

The mast is extended and retracted using a hand-operated winch. Turning the crank arm winds a polyester belt to lift the telescopic sections. To lower the mast, the operator simply turns the crank in the opposite direction, which engages an automatic switch. The mast's external guideways also allow it to be manually rotated around its central axis once deployed.

FAQs

  • What are the primary applications for the STV-G mast? It is intended for elevating equipment such as lighting, photography systems, or other sensors, with a design optimized for mounting on fire brigade or similar vehicles.
  • How is the mast extended and retracted? A hand-operated winch with a crank arm raises the mast sections via a polyester belt system. Turning the crank in the reverse direction lowers the mast, and an automatic safety brake is built-in for operator protection.
  • What height options are available? The STV-G is available in two versions: a 3-section model that extends up to 4 meters and a 4-section model that extends up to 5 meters.
  • Problems we solve: how do we choose a mounting or mast solution? Antenna loads, available space and deployment conditions can make mounting selection difficult. Bring those constraints to Cyntony to narrow options and identify load ratings, installation details and manufacturer questions that need confirmation (Our process).
  • Outcomes we deliver: what comes from working through the requirements? The practical outcome is a requirements-led set of product options to evaluate with Cyntony. Confirm performance, compatibility and any service scope for your configuration before selection (Our process).

Video Notes

A demonstration video would be very effective. Key shots should include: a close-up of the crank arm being turned to raise and lower the mast, the sections extending smoothly, and a demonstration of the manual rotation using the external guideways. Showing the mast mounted on a vehicle would provide valuable context for its intended use.
