AD-27/DB-3512 — VHF/UHF Dual-Band Groundplane Independent Antenna

Posted on June 25, 2020

The AD-27/DB-3512 is a groundplane-independent dual-band monopole/dipole antenna for frequency ranges of 30 to 108 MHz and 225-512 MHz, up to 100W power handling.

The AD-27/DB-3512 is dual-band monopole/dipole antenna intended for use in heavy duty mobile and fixed site applications. The antenna covers frequency ranges 30 to 108 MHz and 225 to 512 MHz.
Due to a special monopole design of the radiator, a groundplane for VHF is not needed, allowing the antenna to be installed on a mast.

The antenna base is made of aluminum and durable plastic materials. Stainless steel spring absorbs the shocks and the vibrations in addition protects the antenna against impacts. It has built in surge protection.

The radiating elements are made of composite materials for outstanding strength and roughness even in hardest conditions of use.

The base has four mounting holes equally spaced on a 4.5" (114.3 mm) circle which complies with NATO standard. The antenna radome is painted with military green (RAL-6014) two-component UV resistant paint.
