My heart grieves for the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing who lost their lives and were heinously injured.

I sincerely hope that everyone affected can recover and adjust to the life-changing experiences and consequences of these two powerful events.  Having lived in Boston's Kenmore Square and South End neighborhoods for almost two decades (attending many marathons), this terrorist attack has deep personal resonance, or more correctly, dissonance.  

 

Now that it has been revealed that the bombs were radio-controlled IEDs (RCIEDs) it pains me more to know that products we provide could have been used to prevent the RC-toy controller command signal from triggering the bombs.   Jammers (or electronic countermeasures) are used in the USA to protect our leaders and international VIPs.  

Perhaps we should be using them for public events like the Boston Marathon?  Boylston Street could likely have been protected by appropriate electronics and an OMNI-A0082.  If only...
